Celebrate Galentine’s Day with Fun Activities

Love is in the air in February, but that doesn’t mean only romantic love. Many celebrate the love and support of friends with a fun Galentine’s Day event. Gather your besties to eat, relax, and share joy!

Relive your childhood and have a pajama party. The Village Center for Holistic Therapy hosts public pajama parties, or you can book a private party. Guests wear their pajamas and enjoy teas, a short educational lesson from Abeille Voyant Tea, a mini-facial with Oak and Ivy Pittsburgh, and meditation with inJoy Meditation, along with snacks. “A private pajama party is more than just a night of relaxation—it’s an opportunity for women to connect, nurture their well-being, and rediscover joy. Sharing tea, self-care rituals, and meditation creates a safe space to unwind, recharge, and celebrate the beauty of community and self-love,” said Kristy Weidner, owner of inJoy Meditation and co-owner of the Village. The Village can also host private meditation sessions, yoga classes, sound baths, or a combo of all three. They can even bring these services to your home.

Who doesn’t love pizza? Gather friends for a night of wine and pizza-making at Mineo’s Pizza House in Allison Park with a hands-on pizza class. “The class includes an appetizer, two vino tastings, your own 12” pie with toppings of your choice, a delicious dolce, and a free custom Mineo apron,” said Manager Caryl Mineo.

Mineo’s also offers pasta-making classes and wine dinners for private groups. “You can make your own homemade pasta dough and fill delicious ravioli. We will also make tiramisu for dessert,” she said. The classes are taught by Mineo along with Rosa and Pina Mineo. “You will learn authentic Italian pasta making, complete with wine pairings. The classes are casual—a great way to experience authentic Italian fun with regional dishes and wines,” said Mineo. Groups can also book wine dinners with special authentic regional dishes paired with wines from that region. “It’s like a big Italian family dinner,” Mineo said.

Another idea is to indulge in a luxurious self-care session this Galentine’s Day. “OSIRIS Wellness and Day Spa is devoted to providing clients with a unique, relaxing, rejuvenating, and revitalizing experience,” said Marcia Klaric, co-owner with Rock Arkie.

OSIRIS has multiple treatment rooms that can accommodate two to four clients at the same time. “For couples or groups, OSIRIS will schedule services based on clients’ preferences and availability. After the service, they can enjoy the relaxation areas until they’re ready to leave. If they would like to enjoy a meal at the spa, whether ordered in or brought on their own, we schedule that time based on the service times,” Klaric said.

Another fun Galentine’s Day activity is crafting your own cocktails. Caryn Siegfried recently enjoyed a cocktail class at McLaughlin Distillery with friends. “I heard about the class through my friend—she thought it would be a festive evening,” she said.

General manager Matt DiPietro explained that McLaughlin offers monthly classes as well as private parties. “Our resident mixologist—who just happens to be a science teacher in her other life—whips up various cocktails with each class, which each have their own theme depending on the season. Each participant has the opportunity to select three cocktails of their choosing to enjoy during the class,” he said.

“Another option is one of our home tasting parties. These are like Tupperware parties, but with the good stuff. We will bring our tasting room to you. All 40 products are brought to an individual’s house, and we give them a brief presentation on who we are and the details on each product. Attendees have the opportunity to sample up to 1.5 oz total, and they are also able to place orders, which are delivered back to the host,” DiPietro said.

Guests can also stop by the distillery. “It’s a warm and inviting place for all. With over 40 different spirits, there is something for every palate. Bourbon, whiskey, vodka, creamy liqueurs, and 23 flavored moonshines make it hard to choose what to try next,” he said. “Tastes are always free, and no reservations are required—just pop on in and check us out. We’re open seven days a week, which isn’t the norm for any distilleries in the area. We pride ourselves on making good spirits and giving the customer a remarkable experience; everything else is just the fun stuff for us,” he said.

Visiting Solera Wine Co. is the perfect idea for wine lovers. “We are a small wine shop and bar, so the best thing to do is come in and spend some time with us. We love talking and teaching about wine—the best way to experience who we are is to get a group of friends together and share a bottle or a few glasses of wine over great conversation,” said Owner/Operator Tyler Borne.

Solera also has a heated igloo on their outdoor patio during the winter months, which seats eight and would be ideal for a Galentine’s Day activity. “It’s a great way to spend an evening with friends,” Borne said.

Crafty friends can enjoy creating a project of their choice at AR Workshop in Gibsonia. “We host open public classes where you can make anything you want, with no minimum number of attendees, and everyone can create something different. We also offer private parties, team-building events and fundraisers tailored to your needs,” said Owner Jennifer Boston. “We are all about relaxation and creativity. You’ll love the happy and welcoming vibe, the freedom to work at your own pace, and the option to bring your own beverages and snacks. Plus, all of our materials and stains are nontoxic, so you can craft with confidence,” she said.

“Even those not so ‘crafty’ will have fun at AR Workshop. Our professional and experienced instructors ensure that your project turns out beautifully. With their help, even first-timers can create like pros,” Boston said.
